Summer Camp 2019 – FAQ

1) Will you provide food during the camp?
Yes. Snacks and Lunch will be provided on all days of the camp.

2) What if my child has food allergies?
We request that children with allergies bring their own food, to avoid any complications.

3) Is there early drop-off and late pick-up (after camp care)?
Yes. We offer one hour pre-camp and after care or late pick-up until 6 PM. Camp times are M-F 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

4) How old does my child have to be for the camp?
i. The camp is designed for children based on the grade they will be entering in the Fall of 2019.
ii. The Annual Youth Camp from July 8-July 14 2019 is open to all Grades (Pre K through 12th Grade ).
iii. The Extended Youth Camps ( July 15 – July 19 and July 22 – July 26 ) is for Kindergarten to 8th graders.
iv. High School kids are welcome to volunteer during the Extended Youth camp.

5) Can I volunteer as a parent?
Yes definitely! All parents are encouraged to volunteer for at least one or more days during the camp. We will have a volunteer orientation day and time set up prior to the camp.

6) Is there a carpooling available to and from Chinmaya Mission?
Chinmaya Mission will facilitate and try to coordinate parents who are looking to make carpool arrangements for their children. There is a carpool request sheet available at the front desk at CM, Badri, that we request you to provide your contact details.

7) Who will be teaching the classes and what are the benefits of this camp?
Under the guidance of Pujya Swami Sharanananda and Respected spiritual guides, we will offer quality value-based classes and activities such as yoga, bhajans and class time in the morning to nurture their spiritual personality and growth. There will be professional qualified teachers to nurture their intellectual curiosity, skill development and strengthen their physical body during the afternoon activities and the weekly Friday field trip. Note: The Friday Field trip is only for the Extended Youth Camps.

8) How do I enroll my child in the program?

9) What is a typical day like at camp?
The mornings will be dedicated to spiritually-themed classes and yoga. After lunch and recess, the children will be provided with enrichment/fun classes. There will be sufficient juice and snack breaks.

11) Are there additional costs outside the camp fee and what does the camp fee include?
The camp fee includes all camp activities, material fees, lunch and snacks. Additional costs may be applicable for some field trips (Travel cost and entry fees).
