Itihasa-Puranas are called the Panchama Veda (the fifth veda) since they bring out the essentials of dharma shastra and the Upanishads in an accessible form for all seekers.

Pujya Swami Sharanananda will give the keynote address on the topic. Authors who have published works on Hindu stories will shed light on the history, the purpose, and the development of our vibrant Katha tradition.
