South Asian Marrow Initiative (SAMI)

Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia. SAMI is a non-profit organization that aims to bridge the gap for South Asian groups that are under-represented in the stem-cell registry.

South Asians only account for 3% of the entire registry, making it difficult for South Asian patients to find a matching donor. Due to this, hundreds of thousands of deaths could have been prevented.
